📲 Need help setting up Microsoft Authenticator?

If you didn't have the Authenticator app set up before, or need guidance on how to set it up again, follow these steps:

1

Sign in to your work account

On your computer or phone, sign in to your work account. You can do this by opening any Microsoft app (Outlook, Teams, etc.) or by going to portal.office.com in your browser.

2

Change your password

You'll first be prompted to change your password. Follow the on-screen instructions to set a new password.

3

Download Microsoft Authenticator

After changing your password, you'll be prompted to set up multi-factor authentication. Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it.

4

Set up your account in Authenticator

Follow the on-screen instructions — they're very straightforward:

1. Open the Authenticator app on your phone

2. Tap "+" or "Add account" → select "Work or school account"

3. Scan the QR code shown on your computer screen

4. Enter the verification code when prompted

That's it — your account is now protected with MFA.

If you already had Authenticator before the migration and didn't remove your old work account as instructed in Phase 1, you'll likely run into errors at this stage. If that happens, go back to the Before Migration steps at the top of this guide and remove the old account first.

All done! 🎉

Your migration is complete. All devices are connected to the new tenant. If you have any issues, contact IT support.
